Does this mean #GrabYourWallet really worked?
Back in November, Nordstrom was refusing to drop Ivanka Trump‘s brand, even as calls to do so increased. Last night, however, it was announced that the brand was being dropped due to poor sales.
Whether the poor sales were a direct result of the boycott movement #GrabYourWallet was not immediately clear, but a representative said this to Business Insider:
Each year we cut about 10% [of brands carried] and refresh our assortment with about the same amount. In this case, based on the brand’s performance we’ve decided not to buy it for this season.
Recently, Uber’s CEO removed himself from an advisory council of Donald Trump‘s following a mass deletion of his ride sharing app. That movement was simply called #DeleteUber, but it seems to have worked.
Don’t underestimate hashtag activism.
