Obama ‘Applauds’ Sony Releasing The Interview in Statement

The President of the United States today put out a statement in reaction to a movie studio deciding to go ahead with releasing a movie today (and let this be the last time it ever happens, please). Yes, Sony finally calmed down and agreed to a limited release of The Interview, so finally we’ll all get to see exactly which movie everyone lost their collective shit over.

Here’s the full statement from the White House on President Obama‘s reaction to the release of a Seth Rogen and James Franco movie:

The president applauds Sony’s decision to authorize screenings of the film. As the president made clear, we’re a country that believes in free speech and the right of artistic expression. The decision made by Sony and participating theaters allows people to make their own choices about the film and we welcome that outcome.

Well, let’s just hope that’s the end of this weird national nightmare…
