Protesters at a Donald Trump rally Thursday night harassed and attacked Trump supporters, and tonight President Obama went out of his way to scold those protesters during a fundraiser tonight.
According to Reuters, the president referred to the protests and said, “That’s not what our democracy’s about.”
“There’s no room for violence,” Obama declared. “There’s no room for shouting. There’s no room for a politics that fails to at least listen to the other side, even if you vehemently disagree.”
Both Democratic candidates have condemned the protests, with Hillary Clinton denouncing it on CNN this afternoon and Bernie Sanders saying this tonight:
Bernie Sanders says violence outside Trump rally is “totally unacceptable;" those who are violent are not wanted as Sanders supporters.
