Obama Surprises Biden at Tribute By Awarding Him Presidential Medal of Freedom

President Obama ended his moving tribute to Vice President Joe Biden today by surprising him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom with Distinction.

Neither Biden nor anyone else in the room saw it coming, and the vice president was very noticeably choked up as Obama––who earlier joked about their “bromance”––talked about bestowing the nation’s highest civilian honor upon his “brother.”
