Officer Injured in Shooting Throws Out First Pitch at Congressional Women’s Softball Game

One of the Capitol Police Officers who was injured in last week’s shooting at the GOP baseball team’s practice was not only released from the hospital today, but she threw out the first pitch at the Congressional Women’s Softball Game.

Griner and David Bailey were the two officers who were injured in the shooting as they protected Steve Scalise and the other members of Congress at the field. Both Paul Ryan and Nancy Pelosi praised their bravery in statements after the shooting.

Bailey threw out the first pitch at the game last week, and tonight was Griner’s turn.
