Olbermann: Trump’s Comments on Election Results Are ‘The Moral Equivalent of Treason’

Keith Olbermann, now doing his special commentaries for GQ, has a new one out today attacking Republican leaders for standing by Donald Trump‘s “moral equivalent of treason.”

He said that Trump playing coy with whether he’d accept the election outcome is “the greatest existential threat to this country’s government since the Cuban Missile Crisis” and he attempted to shame all the Trump surrogates who are either egging this on or explaining it away by citing Al Gore (which really got Olbermann pissed off).

“When will you disavow this anti-democratic demagogue?” he asked. “When will you defund him? When will you deny him? Conway, Sessions, Giuliani, Palin, Chris Christie, Mike Pence, Corey Lewandowski, Roger Stone. These people are done in this country’s politics.”

Oh, and then came the “treason” remark:

“This is the moral equivalent of treason. When, Republican leaders, will you speak up? Speak up not in your self-interest, not as a strategic move for your own campaign, not as positioning for the future. When will you speak up for the Constitution? When will you speak up for democracy? When will you speak up for the United States of America?!”
