‘Our Agents Were Left With No Choice…’: United CEO Sends Staff Email About Deplaning Incident
— Ryan Ruggiero (@RyanRuggiero) April 10, 2017
Just like they did with the leggings-related fiasco a few weeks ago, United Airlines is really doubling down over the decision to have a man dragged off an overbooked flight.
Earlier, CEO Oscar Munoz apologized for having to “re-accommodate” a customer, not, y’know, how the customer was literally dragged from the plane and started bleeding. Now, a letter from Munoz to United employees has appeared online.
In the letter, the CEO lays out the events, courtesy of employees who witnessed it. He insisted there are “lessons” United could learn from the incident, then said that the passenger’s actions left the crew with “no choice” but to call in the airline police, who “physically removed” him.
