Pro-Kasich PAC Helpfully Reminds Us of Those Times Fiorina Criticized Cruz
Well, that was fast.
Before Ted Cruz even made his much-heralded announcement that he had chosen Carly Fiorina as his VP pick, the pro-Kasich PAC New Day for America reminded Americans that the pair were not always so friendly. In a statement released Wednesday afternoon, the PAC assembled several (well, four) examples when the former GOP candidate Fiorina had criticized her erst-rival Cruz.
She said of the 2013 shutdown of the federal government, stewarded by Sen. Cruz, “There’s no honor in charging a hill that you know you can’t take, only casualties, although Ted Cruz maybe got name recognition and money along the way.” She called it “Ted Cruz and Barack Obama’s shutdown.”
As recently as Jan. 2016, when she was still in the race, she said there could be cause for concern about Cruz’s Canadian birth, saying, “There are both legal scholars and others who think this is, perhaps, a legitimate issue.”
She told the Boston Herald in Dec. 2015 that a Cruz surrogate accused her of going “full vagina” and playing the “gender card” at a GOP debate.
Fiorina has been supporting Cruz since Mar. 9, when she officially endorsed him, praising him as a “real conservative.”
