Putin: ‘I Am Ready to Go to Washington,’ Trump Also Invited to Moscow, White House Responds
Earlier this week, Kremlin diplomat Yuri Ushakov splashed some cold water on the idea of a second summit between President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
“I think it would be wise to let the dust settle and then we can discuss all these questions in a business-like way,” Ushakov told Reuters. “But not now.”
Putin, however, is now speaking out for himself on the matter. And based on his comments, it looks like a second summit is very much a possibility in the near future. And maybe even a third.
As reported first by Agence France-Presse and later by CNN, Putin told reporters Friday that he is willing to accept Trump’s invite to visit the White House.
“I am ready to go to Washington,” Putin told reporters, according to AFP.
AFP and CNN also report that Putin has invited Trump to Moscow as well.
