Republican Praises MSNBC Host from House Floor
Something happened today we may never again see in our lifetimes: a Republican member of Congress spoke out today, on the House floor, praising the work of an MSNBC host.
Florida Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen today praised the work of José Díaz-Balart, an anchor who currently works for both Telemundo and MSNBC. He currently hosts The Rundown from 9 am to 11 am on the cable news network.
Ros-Lehtinen credited Díaz-Balart for 30 years of excellence in reporting, calling him a “valuable voice to the Hispanic-American community.” (And fun fact: Díaz-Balart’s brother, Mario Díaz-Balart, is a Republican member of Congress who’s worked with Ros-Lehtinen on many big issues.)
So it’s just a nice moment to appreciate (and again, an incredibly rare one that will never, ever happen again). Watch here, via MSNBC:
Correction: An earlier version of this post said Díaz-Balart hosts the 10 am to 12 noon block on MSNBC. He hosts the 9 am to 11 am block.
