Rev. Franklin Graham: Obama Should Be More Like Putin on Gay Rights
There isn’t much anyone in the U.S. would give Vladimir Putin props for, but Reverend Franklin Graham thinks that the Russian leader has a much better record on gay rights than President Obama. In a piece for this month’s Decision magazine, Graham makes it clear he is not “endorsing” Putin, but argues that he has quite the laudable record on standing up for traditional values.
Graham favorably notes how Putin took a stand to “protect children” from gay propaganda by instituting bans, remarking that “America’s own morality has fallen so far that on this issue… Russia’s standard is higher than our own.”
He goes on to contrast Putin’s approach to gay issues with the way Obama and his administration have.
In my opinion, Putin is right on these issues. Obviously, he may be wrong about many things, but he has taken a stand to protect his nation’s children from the damaging effects of any gay and lesbian agenda.
Our president and his attorney general have turned their backs on God and His standards, and many in the Congress are following the administration’s lead. This is shameful.
Before the Sochi Olympics, Putin said that gays were welcome to attend as long as they “leave kids alone.”
