RNC Sends Out Email Blasting ‘Scandalous’ Dems…Just As Ex-RNC Official Michael Cohen Strikes Plea Deal
As news broke that Michael Cohen struck a plea deal with Manhattan federal prosecutors, the Republican National Committee sent out an email blast attacking the credibility of the Democratic Party.
The message included a laundry list of critiques, deeming the past few months a “scandalous summer” for the left, marked by “detrimental stories on ethical concerns, scandals, and fact checks.”
Among the RNC’s grievances were Sen. Claire McCaskill‘s (D-MO) use of a private jet to get around her state during what had been billed as an RV tour, Sen. Bill Nelson‘s (D-FL) unfounded claims Russian agents hacked into his state’s voter registration systems, and Sen. Joe Manchin‘s (D-WV) connections to pharmaceutical company Mylan, which faced backlash over its markup of the EpiPen.
While the email cites credible fact checkers like The Washington Post and PolitiFact to back up its bashing of a handful of Democratic flubs, the timing begs the question of whether the right is becoming anxious as President Donald Trump‘s former fixer comes under fire.
Cohen’s plea deal involves tax and bank fraud along with campaign finance violations, according to NBC News. He may reportedly face up to five years in prison.
