If you were wondering what Roger Ailes‘ next step would be after stepping down as Chairman & CEO of Fox News, it looks like he’s getting to work on a book.
According to CNN, Ailes is now going to focus on an autobiography he’s been mulling for years.
A book by the man who singlehandedly re-shaped cable news would certainly be a fascinating read. The last book Ailes wrote was You Are the Message, and that came out years before Fox News was in existence.
CNN says the autobiography will, obviously, cover Ailes’ time building up Fox, but if you’re wondering how much he can say about the reason he ended up leaving, here’s all you need to know:
He may choose to respond in some way to the harassment allegations against him. He has vehemently denied the claims in ex-anchor Gretchen Carlson’s lawsuit.
What Ailes can’t do, according to a source with knowledge of his exit agreement, is criticize his former employer or its owners, the Murdochs. The agreement includes a non-disparagement clause.
