Rose McGowan Suggests Weinstein Arrest Was ‘Orchestrated’: ‘He Still Has Friends In High Places’

Rose McGowan has been fighting for decades to put Harvey Weinstein in cuffs, but now that he’s turned himself in to face charges, the actress said she feels shocked.

“I have to admit I didn’t think I would see the day that he would have handcuffs on him,” she told Good Morning America.

But with the acumen of someone who’s been in the business a long time, she pointed out that the timing of the arraignment works in Weinstein’s favor.

“Now, of course, it’s been orchestrated so it’s on a Friday of a holiday weekend so that’s slow media,” she explained. “So they did something nice for him. That means he has friends in high places still.”

“But I have a visceral need for him to have handcuffs on,” she said.

When asked if she would be in the courtroom for Weinstein’s trial, McGowan said that the last time she saw Weinstein, it was on a red carpet, and she threw up in a trash can.

“Maybe it’ll be him that’s nauseous and not me for once,” she said. “I will be ready for it. And I will sit in that courtroom. And I will support the other survivors all over the world. That’s what I do.”

Weinstein was charged with rape, criminal sex act, sex abuse and sexual misconduct. Though he has dozens of accusers, the case involves alleged misconduct with two women. He denies that any encounter he had with any of these women was non-consensual.
