Currently, we are smack dab in the middle of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Annual Festival Sunday, one of the biggest annual music festivals in the country. And, last night, during a set by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, concert goers got a special surprise; a rare appearance by Tupac Shakur who just so happens to have been dead since 1996. Shakur made his appearance thanks to the magic of holograms and it was clearly a move by concert organizers to test the boundaries of technology as well as to scare the living shit out of any audience members currently on hard drugs.
Shakur has remained in the public eye since his shooting death thanks to eight different posthumous records. However, that’s nothing compared to what people saw last night. Bridging the music gap between singing ghost Nat King Cole and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Shakur appeared to walk across the stage and even address the Coachella audience.
Whether you find this some kind of unholy affront to God or a pretty cool concert trick, the fact remains that the technology is impressive. You can check out the video below. Meanwhile, we’ll just be sitting here guessing how long it will take CNN to hire Shakur for election coverage.
