A former Los Angeles police captain is suing Elton John over allegations that he was fondled and sexually harassed during his time on the British singer’s entourage.
Jeffrey Wenninger, who worked as John’s bodyguard from 2002 to 2014, filed a lawsuit yesterday that claimed John attempted to grope him multiple times over the course of their time together. One incident described by the suit says John tried to grab Wenniger’s genitals, while another asserts that John tried to force his fingers into his buttocks.
According to the suit, these actions were accompanied with comments like “get your todger out,” “say hello to Uncle Elton,” and “you have so many gay genes in you, they just haven’t met up yet.”
The lawsuit alleges that the sexual battery left Wenninger with “physical, mental and emotional injuries,” that also entailed lost wages and job opportunities.
ABC reported that Orin Snyder, an attorney for John’s record company, Rocket Entertainment Group, released a statement that denied the allegations.
“This baseless lawsuit is brought by a disgruntled former security officer seeking to extract an undeserved payment,” Snyder said. “These claims are patently untrue and contradicted by numerous previous statements made by this plaintiff.”
