For the second night in a row, the DNC brought in huge numbers for CNN, which beat out other cable news networks in both total viewers and in the 25-54 age demographic during primetime on Tuesday.
During primetime (8pm-11pm), CNN was #1 among cable news networks, netting 4.668 million total viewers and 1.539 million in demo. MSNBC came in second with 3.182 million in total and 917k in demo. Fox trailed with 2.953 million in total and 101k in demo.
CNN viewership during primetime is up from the second night of the 2012 DNC in both total viewers (4.668 million compared with 3.003 million in 2012) and in demo (1.539 million compared with 1.002 million in 2012).
CNN topped both broadcast and cable news in total viewers and demo during the final 75 min of the convention Tuesday night (10pm-11:15pm):
CNN delivered 5.929 million P2+and 2.051m adults 25-54
NBC delivered 5.281 million P2+ and 1.925m adults 25-54
MSNBC delivered 3.834 million P2+ and 1.170m adults 25-54
ABC News delivered 3.463 million P2+ and 1.098m adults 25-54
CBS News delivered 2.945 million P2+ and 888k adults 25-54
Fox News delivered 2.851 million P2+ and 634k adults 25-54
Fox News’ numbers, however, were way up––a double digit increase––from their 2012 Democratic National Convention numbers
