Spicer: Republicans Who Vote Against Health Care Bill Will Probably ‘Pay a Price at Home’
— ABC News Politics (@ABCPolitics) March 21, 2017
Press Secretary Sean Spicer said at today’s press briefing that Republicans will likely “pay a price at home” if they vote against the Obamacare repeal-and-replacement bill.
He said in response to a question from ABC’s Jon Karl that Republicans all ran on a pledge to repeal and replace Obamacare, and if they don’t uphold that pledge voters will punish them.
This comes after a reported warning from President Trump that members would lose their seats if they voted against the legislation. Spicer said a little later on in the briefing that this was not a “threat” but just Trump relaying the “political reality.”
