Carton is accused of trying to defraud a hedge fund of millions of dollars. He and his co-conspirator, Joseph Meli, are alleged to have claimed to have told the company that they had large blocks of concert tickets that they could sell at a markup. However, they didn’t have the tickets, and Carton is instead alleged to have used the money the hedge fund gave him to pay off gambling debts.
The New York-based Boomer & Carton is simulcast on CBS Sports Network and may be known to non-sports fans as the radio show New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has frequently co-hosted on with Carton.
