Maxine Waters is doing great in spite of dramatic headlines she’s been dragged into lately.
Last week, Bill O’Reilly made fun of her hair in a way that many — including Hillary Clinton — found racist and sexist. Waters responded gracefully and the subject was dropped. (Maybe O’Reilly had other things to worry about after that?) Her response to that incident, plus her tendency to pull no punches with her soundbites, has launched her into Internet fame, especially among Millennials.
In a recent interview with NowThis Politics, the representative spoke about being called “Auntie Maxine” and everything she’s learned from her new fans, including the definition of “throwing shade” and how important it is to “stay woke.”
Overall, she looks like she’s having a great time.
