Stephanie Ruhle Zaps Trump For Being ‘Almost Cute’ in Reacting to Cohen: ‘There’s Nothing Cute About It’

MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle wanted to make sure the president understands that his former lawyer Michael Cohen reaching a plea deal is no laughing matter.

On Wednesday morning, Ruhle read off President Donald Trump‘s tweet about Cohen’s actions:

“Let’s remind our audience, the president is downplaying this,” Ruhle said. “Being funny, almost cute. There’s nothing cute about it.”

“The President of the United States is the chief law enforcement officer,” she continued. “That is what he is. And yesterday, he has been accused as a co-conspirator of a federal crime, maybe multiple. So, please, let that sink in.”

“[Cohen] walked into court yesterday and told a federal judge that the President of the United States coordinated with him and directed that he make a payment to two women in violation of campaign finance laws,” attorney Midwin Charles added. “He implicated the president in a federal crime, in a felony. The President of the United States, right now, is an unindicted co-conspirator.”

“The fact that the president would choose to respond with irreverence in that tweet is further evidence that, you know, the man is just not fit to serve,” former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner offered.
