Stephen A. Smith and Will Cain Go at It Over Kevin Durant WH Snub: ‘What the Hell Came Out of Your Mouth’
On Thursday, Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant told ESPN that he planned to skip the traditional White House visit made by the NBA champions because he does not respect President Donald Trump.
“I don’t respect who’s in office right now,” Durant said.
Friday on First Take, Stephen A. Smith and Will Cain battled it out over Durant’s planned White House snub. Cain (in a portion of the program not included in the clip above), criticized Durant for bringing politics into a non-partisan occasion. Smith was incredulous.
“I don’t know what the hell came out of your mouth,” Smith said. “I literally was listening to you and wondering what on earth you were talking about. Because I can’t understand how you could have any disagreement with what Kevin Durant said, A. But B, and more importantly, how you could believe that that’s a political issue.”
Cain abruptly said “My turn” after Smith spoke for several minutes, and went on a rant of his own.
“I’m tired of you not listening to me. I’m tired of you hearing whether you want to hear,” Cain said. “I’m tired of you hearing good guys and bad guys, and my side and the bad side. I’m tired of you saying anything that disagrees with you is beyond the realm of politics. I’m tired of you saying it’s moral versus immoral. And Kevin Durant is on one side, and all the immoral on the other.”
