Stephen Miller May Be Up for ‘Elevated’ Communications Role After Battling CNN’s Acosta This Week

White House advisor Stephen Miller got a lot of media attention after his combative briefing this week, and he may now be up for a job in the White House communications department.

CNN is reporting this afternoon that Miller is being considered for a comms job:

In fact, Axios is reporting that he could be Anthony Scaramucci‘s replacement as communications director.

Axios’ reporting also gives some insight into how the White House reacted after Miller battled CNN’s Jim Acosta over immigration (and the Statue of Liberty). Miller accused Acosta of harboring a “cosmopolitan bias,” and Acosta subsequently slammed Miller in a few live shots later in the day.

Axios says Miller was the ‘hero of the West Wing” after the exchange, Steve Bannon wants him for the job, and President Trump himself enjoyed watching Miller fight the press.
