Mere minutes after taking off from an airport in Moscow, a Saratov Airlines Jet crashed in a Russian field, killing all 71 people aboard.
The plane, which had 65 passengers and six crew members, was en route to Orsk when it went down in a snow-covered field, breaking up into pieces. Per a Russian government official, the crew and passengers had no chance of survival.
“The quality of biomaterials [at the crash site] is such that genetic analysis will have to be done. We will have to collect biological material from relatives,” Minister Maksim Sokolov said.
The plane, an Antonov An-145 twin-engine jet, was seven years old. The plane had no known technical problem complaints. The pilot had 5,000 hours of total flight experience and more than 2,000 on that type of plane. An airline spokesperson added that the entire crew was experienced.
Surveillance footage has emerged that shows the moment the plane crashes, which can be viewed above via ABC News.
