Security camera footage from a Boston gym shows brothers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, working out just days before allegedly executing the Marathon bombing that killed 3 and injured 264 others.
CNN reports that the footage shows the brothers arriving at the Wai Kru mixed martial arts center during the early afternoon on April 12, three days before the attack.
They worked out with an unidentified friend who was one of the people detained by police for questioning and later released.
The unidentified gym manager told CNN that the elder Tsarnaev brother had recently changed his appearance, shaving off the “bushy” Muslim beard that he’d worn for nearly two years. The manager described Tamerlan as “extremely opinionated” and oftentimes a nuisance for the business because of his “arrogance” and “unwillingness to help others.”
Upon their arrival at the gym, the off-camera manager asked the brothers to remove their shoes in compliance with company rules. Dzhokar immediately takes off his sneakers while Tamerlan argues the point.
A CNN reporter notes how Tamerlan’s laser-focused physical routine is evidence of his years of rigorous training. His younger brother, however, struggled with the jump rope and displayed much less discipline in his workout.
