A Native American tribe recently cancelled a Ted Nugent concert, and now there have been complaints from Wisconsinites to get an upcoming Nugent show called off there too. The Motor City Madman, of course, isn’t taking too kindly to this, and lashed out at the “unclean vermin” trying to get the concert cancelled.
One person wrote a letter to the editor last month calling for Nugent’s concert to be cancelled because of his past “obscene” comments about President Obama, Democrats, and John McCain. There was also a petition to get the concert cancelled (it ultimately went nowhere).
When asked to react to the controversy, Nugent was, of course, very unfiltered about it.
“I take it as a badge of honor that such unclean vermin are upset by me and my positive energy… Put your heart and soul into everything you do and nobody can stop you. Sometimes you give the world the best you got and you get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you got anyway.”
He added that there’s always a “lunatic fringe of hateful, rotten, dishonest people that hate happy, successful people.”
