Rocker and outspoken Second Amendment rights advocate Ted Nugent went after California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein on Thursday over the issue of gun control. He said her views on firearm ownership were “lunacy” and that she was going “berserk,” despite the fact that Sen. Feinstein specifically said that she would not advocate for stricter gun control laws in the wake of last Friday’s mass shooting in Colorado.
Nugent took on Feinstein for her advocacy of gun control, saying that it is “lunacy” that she feels it is appropriate to have concealed weapons permit as a public official but also to deny that right to average citizens.
“Dianne Feinstein, who’s just literally going berserk on the misinformation about the weapons and the ammunition — this is the woman who had a concealed weapons permit but denied California citizens the right to have a concealed weapons permit,” Nugent said. “She demonized the concept … This is lunacy.”
Nugent was reacting to statements Feinstein made on Fox News Sunday in the wake of an attack on moviegoers in Colorado which left 12 dead and scores more wounded. Feinstein, who has long advocated for tighter restrictions on fire arms, hesitated to back new gun control measures. “I think this is a bad time to embrace such a new subject,” she said.
