‘That’s Not an Onion Headline’: Jake Tapper Comments on Trump Asking for Prayer for Ratings

At the beginning of his program The Lead this afternoon, CNN anchor Jake Tapper offered up some snarky commentary about one of the day’s headlines.

“At the National Prayer Breakfast this morning, President Trump mockingly asked for prayers to God for Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s ratings,” Tapper noted.

He added, “That really happened. That’s not an Onion headline.”

The CNN host was of course talking about Trump taking a moment during his remarks to highlight how much better his ratings were than current Apprentice host Schwarzenegger while asking that they all “pray for Arnold” that he could improve his numbers.

Schwarzenegger would later hit back at Trump, suggesting the two of them switch jobs so people could finally sleep comfortably at night.
