Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders can’t seem to decide on anything when it comes to their debates. After she tone-policed him a few days ago in response to his insistence that the next debate be in New York, her campaign has now come out with a statement claiming that his campaign has rejected three separate prospective debate dates.
Per The Hill, Clinton spokesperson Brian Fallon said this:
The Sanders campaign needs to stop with the games. Over the course of the last week we have offered three specific dates for a debate in New York, all of which the Sanders campaign rejected.
They allegedly rejected the 4th of April due to its falling before the Wisconsin primary. April 14 and 15 were also shot down, according to Fallon.
Sanders’ campaign has responded with this reasoning for rejecting the proposed debate on the 4th:
The idea that they want a debate in New York on a night of the NCAA finals — with Syracuse in the tournament no less — is ludicrous.
The DNC has been facing months of criticism for selecting debate dates and times that appear to be efforts to give Clinton an easy ride to the nomination. It appears that Sanders’ campaign believes their suggested dates for April are another attempt at gaining ground.
