Notre Dame survived a tough battle with Princeton in their first round match-up on Thursday, hanging on to win 60-58.
Princeton had a shot to win in the closing seconds. Down one with the basketball, sophomore guard Devin Cannady had a good look at a three. But the shot went off the back iron, and Notre Dame corralled the rebound to seal the victory.
It would’ve been the Tigers’ first NCAA win since 1998, had they pulled it off.
