Remember when Donald Trump hit it off with Vladimir Putin a few months ago when he reciprocated praise from, and later defended, the Russian president? Well, unfortunately for their bromance, those days could be over.
On Wednesday, Trump released an Instagram video that featured Hillary Clinton‘s infamous dog-barking imitation, and mocked Democrats for calling her the answer to America’s “toughest opponents” like Russia and ISIS. Now, it seems that the video has made its way to the Kremlin, and spokesman Dmitry Peskov is hitting back at the mogul for jumping on the Russia “demonization” bandwagon.
While he wasn’t sure whether Putin himself has seen the video, Peskov set the tenor and said “our attitude is negative,” in terms of how the administration felt about it.
“It’s an open secret for us that demonising Russia and whatever is linked to Russia is unfortunately a mandatory hallmark of America’s election campaign,” Peskov said. “We always sincerely regret this and wish the electoral process was conducted without such references to our country.”
