‘The Media is the Opposition Party in Many Ways’: Trump Backs Bannon’s Criticism of the Press

In an interview with CBN News’ David Brody, President Donald Trump doubled down on his chief strategist Steve Bannon’s comment about the media being an “opposition party.”

Asked by the Christian network host if he believed what Bannon said, Trump responded by stating that he thinks “to a large extent they’re much more capable than the other side.”

“I think the media is the opposition party in many ways,” he explained. Trump added that he doesn’t think that way about “all media” because he has “tremendous respect” for some people in the press, but that he sees “total deceit” within a large portion of the industry.

POTUS continued to label the media the opposition party, saying they were on the side that was “losing badly” before going on to claim that the New York Times has lost subscriptions because of their coverage of him. (Something that doesn’t appear to be factual.)
