Though the legal team of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made Gov. Chris Christie briefly take down the Epic Budget Battle Trailer last week, Johnson wants to make one thing clear: he’s totally cool with Christie, for real.
“I know Gov. Christie. We’ve met a couple of times,” the actor told the AP while promoting his new movie. “But in no way was I associated with what he had going on. He had his team of people around him who kind of put that together. I saw it. I was like well, I don’t have anything to do with it, so now you’ve got to pull it down.”
And while The Rock did speak at the RNC Convention in 2000, he’s quick to point out that he has all sorts of political homeboys. “Clinton is a good buddy of mine, Obama is a good buddy of mine. A multitude of people who are buddies.”
(A multitude of homeboys.)
After The Rock’s legal team issued a takedown notice, Christie’s office eventually put the video back online sans Rock footage, but with all the explosions and Michael Bay ripoffs intact.
