After retiring from wrestling to focus on his acting career, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is well on his way to winning a whole pile of awards. They just may not be the awards he was hoping for.
Even so, The Rock was gracious about receiving a Razzie – the awards which recognize the worst in movies – for his remake of the ’80s TV series Baywatch.
On Oscars Sunday, The Rock posted an Instagram video informing his fans that he, too, was “bringing home the gold tonight,” telling them about the Razzie win.
“Here’s the cool thing,” he explained. “The movie was so bad that they actually had to create another category… ‘A Movie So Rotten You Eventually Fell in Love With It.'”
“Which means,” he continued, “The shit sandwich you have been eating is so bad that you eventually started to like it.
“I made Baywatch with the best of intentions, it didn’t work out like that, but I humbly and graciously accept my Razzie.”
Will Johnson be the first ever President of the United States to win a Razzie? Actually, no – that’s President George W. Bush. (President Donald Trump has one as well.)
