Trump Accuses Attorney General Loretta Lynch of Accepting Bribe to Bury Email Investigation
At a rally in Raleigh, N.C. Tuesday night Donald Trump accused Attorney General Loretta Lynch of essentially accepting a bribe to bury the email investigation.
Trump was responding to reports that Hillary Clinton was possibly considering appointing Lynch as her own A.G. “That’s like a bribe, isn’t it? Isn’t that sort of a bribe?” Trump asked. “I think it’s a bribe.”
The presumptive GOP nominee insinuated that when former President Bill Clinton met privately with Lynch last week, he may have proffered a quid pro quo: If Clinton is elected president, Lynch can continue her tenure. “It’s a bribe!” he yelled.
“The Attorney General is sitting there saying, ‘You know, if I get Hillary off the hook, I’m gonna have four more years or eight more years. But if she loses, I’m out of a job.’ It’s a bribe! It’s a disgrace! It’s a disgrace! She is laughing at the stupidity of our system. She is laughing, and so is her husband Bill Laughing at what’s going on!”
