Trump Adviser Sebastian Gorka Reportedly Taking On New Role Outside of White House
A new report is stating that White House national security adviser Sebastian Gorka is about to take on a new role outside of the Donald Trump administration.
Washington Examiner heard from multiple sources who told them that Gorka will accept a position dealing with the “war of ideas” involved in counterterrorism and radical Islamic extremism.
Gorka frequently appears as a media surrogate for the White House, and his anti-terrorism work has been part of his involvement with the internal executive organization, Strategic Initiatives Group (SIG). Washington Examiner was told that Gorka’s role in SIG was “always meant to be temporary,” but his departure is already prompting questions about the status of his security clearance.
Gorka is one of several former Breitbart employees who were brought on board to be part of the Trump administration. Former Breitbart chief Steve Bannon was recently removed from his position on the National Security Council, and recent reports have created speculation over the extent of Gorka’s involvement in developing counterterrorism strategies.
Gorka has faced significant criticism over the last three months, not just because of his work for Trump, but also because of reports about his connections to far-right European nationalist groups associated with Neo-Nazism.
