Donald Trump bailed Thursday on an interview with Sean Hannity scheduled for that evening.
CNN’s Brian Stelter reported that Trump pulled out at 11:30 in the morning.
Hannity, a fervent Trump ally, is scheduled to devote a special one-hour special Thursday night to interviewing four women who accused Bill Clinton of sexual assault — Kathy Shelton, Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey, and Juanita Broaddrick. The special episode is part of the Trump campaign’s new strategy to revive old Bill Clinton scandals in an effort to turn off young women voters.
The news of Trump’s withdrawing from the interview comes as Trump is inundated with accusations from women that he touched them inappropriately and without consent.
Trump has not held a press conference in 78 days, per CBS’s Sopan Deb. The candidate used to make frequent call-in interviews to an array of shows, but now carefully doles out appearances only to friendly personalities on Fox News, namely Hannity.
