Trump Calls Price ‘A Very Good Man,’ Says He Will Announce Price’s Fate Tonight (UPDATE: Price Resigns)
It appears that Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price will not have to wait long to learn his fate.
Speaking with reporters outside the White House Friday, President Donald Trump said that he planned to “make a decision” on Price sometime Friday evening. In his brief remarks, the President praised the HHS Secretary as “a very good man.” But Price ought not take much comfort in those words, considering Trump recently used them prior to ousting Chief Strategist Steve Bannon.
“I felt very badly,” Trump said. “Because the Secretary, Secretary Price is a good man. But we are looking into it and looking into it very strongly.”
Later in his remarks, Trump expanded on his criticisms of Price for taking at least hundreds of thousands of dollars in private plane trips.
“Look, I think he’s a very fine person,” Trump said. “I certainly don’t like the optics.
