Even though a top staffer suggested it might happen, the Donald Trump campaign says they’re not actually thinking about exiling Hugh Hewitt from the GOP convention over the radio hosts critical remarks yesterday.
While the conservative radio host tried to “stay Switzerland” through the election process, Hewitt said that Trump being the party’s face would be like “ignoring stage-four cancer.” He went on say that the party should alter convention rules in order to change the nominee because he thinks there’s a high probability that Trump will be crushed by Hillary Clinton come November.
“I wanna support the nominee of the party, but I think the party ought to change the nominee. Because we’re going to get killed with this nominee,” Hewitt said. “If Donald Trump pulls over a makeover in the next 4 to 5 weeks, great, they can keep him. It would be better if he had done so 5 weeks ago.”
This was never going to sit well with the Trump camp, and social media director Dan Scavino Jr. made that perfectly clear last night.
Assume hater Hugh Hewitt will not be attending the @GOP Convention. If he is – the RNC should BAN him from attending.

The Washington Examiner reached out to the campaign to see if Scavino’s suggestion was final, and they received a one-word answer from spokeswoman Hope Hicks:
