Trump Dismisses Polls Showing Him Losing to Hillary: ‘I Haven’t Started Yet’

donald-trump1-300x1971-300x1971-650x427Donald Trump only loves polls that show him winning and winning bigly. He won every online poll (so he says), and any polls that don’t show him winning are being fixed by the crooked elite.

But in an interview with the New York Times, Trump engaged in a bit of spin regarding recent polls showing him behind Hillary Clinton, seemingly proud of where he ranks given how little he’s done so far:

“I’m four down in one poll, three and a half in another that just came out, and I haven’t started yet,” Mr. Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, said in a phone interview on Thursday night, a thought he volunteered as he dismissed concerns from Senate Republicans that he may be a drag on their candidacies in the fall.

This is a line, by the way, that Trump has been using for weeks now. When he clinched the GOP nomination, he said he hasn’t even started on Clinton yet. In interviews before he clinched the GOP nomination, he said he hasn’t even started on Clinton yet.

Also, Trump clearly has started going after Clinton hard, and the RCP average of polls has Clinton 5.8 points ahead of Trump.

Earlier today, Trump tweeted out a poll showing him losing to Clinton. He said “THANK YOU.”

According to RCP, the last time Trump was ahead in the polls was in a mid-May ABC News/WaPo poll, and it was only by 5 points. A recent Fox News poll shows Clinton beating Trump even though a majority of those polled say Clinton lied about her emails.
