Amy Schumer and the people who come to her shows haven’t always gotten along. It was only last month that we reported that she called out a heckler, then had him booted from the gig. Yesterday, during a show at Tampa’s Amalie Arena, her jokes about Donald Trump caused about 200 ticket-holders to walk out, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
She did call him an “orange, sexual-assaulting, fake-college-starting monster,” but in fairness, her political beliefs have never been much of a secret, nor has her support of Hillary Clinton or deep disdain for Trump.
In spite of how vocal she’s been about these topics, the Times reported that a supporter named Ryan Atwood said, “The show became political. I definitely didn’t come to hear this.”
Other attendees said the same.
“I don’t want to hear that,” Bryon Nfinger said. “We wanted to have a good night without distractions with the politics.”
In light of all of the recent accusations of sexual assault directed at Trump, she asked anyone who has been a victim of a similar assault to stand.
The walk-outs came after she requested that security get rid of anyone who was booing, though throughout the video above, you can hear people cheering as she makes fun of the GOP nominee.
