Trump Goes to Bat For MLB Great (and MAGA Fan) Curt Schilling: Put Him in Hall of Fame

President Donald Trump is going to bat for a baseball great.

In a tweet late Sunday night, the president called for former Boston Red Sox star pitcher Curt Schilling to be elected to baseball’s Hall of Fame.

“Curt Schilling deserves to be in the Baseball Hall of Fame,” Trump wrote. “Great record, especially when under pressure and when it mattered most. Do what everyone in Baseball knows is right!”

The pitcher, a three-time World Series champion who amassed a 216-146 record in his career, believes he’s been kept out of baseball’s Hall of Fame partially because of his conservative beliefs and support for Trump.

“People that have not voted for me specifically because of the things I’ve said or did, they’ve said it,” Schilling told Mark Levin on Fox News, in an interview which aired Sunday night. “They’ve come out and said, ‘I can’t vote for him because of what he said and what he did.’”
