Trump Is Now Blaming a Working Microphone for His ‘Pussy’ Audio Tape

trump-12-650x498Donald Trump said that a working microphone was to blame for the 2005 audio of him boasting about sexually assaulting women.

In an interview with the Catholic network EWTN, which is scheduled to air Thursday night, the GOP nominee said, “The microphones, I mean to be honest should, you know, should never have been on, but that was locker room talk.” An excerpt of the interview was posted on The Washington Post.

The audio was recorded while Trump was chatting off-camera with Billy Bush during an Access Hollywood shoot. After it leaked on Oct. 7, Trump apologized, described it as “locker room talk,” and alleged that he had heard worse from Bill Clinton.

Trump denied that he ever grabbed and kissed women without their consent, as he bragged he had done in the audio. Multiple women subsequently came forward alleging that Trump had sexually assaulted them.

Previously, Trump blamed a defective microphone for his performance during the first presidential debate. The Commission on Presidential Debates acknowledged that in the debate’s opening minutes there were issues with his mic that affected the audio level inside the venue, but it did not impact the sound on the broadcast. He still insisted he won the debate.
