The NFL’s much maligned concussion protocol has a new critic: Donald Trump.
At a rally in Lakeland, Fla. on Wednesday, the republican nominee remarked that his supporters were tougher than NFL players after a woman fainted and quickly came to.
“That woman was out cold, and now she’s coming back,” Trump said. “We don’t go by these new, and very much softer, NFL rules. Concussion, oh! Oh! Got a little ding on the head. No, no, you can’t play for the rest of the season.’ Our people are tough.”
The remarks were met with cheers from the rally attendees in Lakeland.
Many critics of the NFL’s concussion policy hold the complete opposite position as Trump — saying that the policy is too lenient. The republican nominee apparently disagrees.
