Speaking to reporters from his plane Tuesday afternoon, Donald Trump stood by his campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, who stands charged of assaulting reporter Michelle Fields.
Responding to a question about the bruises on her arm, a photo of which Fields tweeted out shortly after the incident (below), Trump expressed skepticism: “How do you know those bruises weren’t there before?” he demanded.

He proceeded to cast doubt on several of Fields’ claims, saying he would not stand by and let “a person’s life be destroyed” by these charges.
