Donald Trump‘s latest comments on Roger Ailes feature some new comments on his views about what women who are sexually harassed should do in that situation.
He said, “There was quite a bit of fabulous things said… It would be easier for me and more politically correct for me to say you are right. But you would think she wouldn’t say those things.”
Trump appeared to muddy the waters as to whether he was aware there were women besides Gretchen Carlson who spoke out against Ailes.
Oh, and then he said this:
What if someone had treated Ivanka in the way Ailes allegedly behaved?
His reply was startling, even by Trumpian standards. “I would like to think she would find another career or find another company if that was the case,” he said.
In her column, Powers rebuts Trump by saying, “Why should a woman be expected to upend her career just because she ended up in the crosshairs of some harasser?”
Trump’s first response when the news broke about Ailes accusations was to say they were “unfounded.”
