Trump Opens U.N. Speech With a Plug For His Own Building (… Because of Course he Does)
He just can’t help himself.
President Donald Trump made his first remarks to the United National General Assembly on Monday. And in a development that will surprise no one, the President opened by referencing one of the New York buildings which bear his name.
“I actually saw great potential right across the street to be honest with you,” Trump said. “And it was only for the reason that the United Nations was here that that turned out to be such a successful project.”
The President was talking about Trump World Tower — which is located directly across from U.N. headquarters in Manhattan. That project was completed in 2001. It is the eighth tallest building in New York City.
But with all the pressing matters before the United Nations — including, namely, North Korea — the President of the United States simply had to get his plug in.
