Trump Scraps FBI Visit After Learning He ‘Would Not Be Well Received’

When you’ve lost the rank and file…

NBC News reports that President Donald Trump is scrapping plans for a visit to FBI headquarters after the Bureau told the White House “The optics would not be good.”

Peter Alexander broke the news on air for MSNBC. He read a quote from an unnamed FBI source who suggested that Trump wouldn’t get the kindest reception after his firing of Director James Comey.

“My sense is most FBI employees feel a loyalty to Comey,” the source told NBC. “And whether they agree or disagree with the way he handled the email case, like and respect him … Trump would not be well received at headquarters.”

This news comes after White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders insisted at her press briefing Thursday that the FBI rank and file backed Trump’s decision to sack Comey.

“I’ve heard from countless members of the FBI that are grateful and thankful for the president’s decision,” Huckabee Sanders said.

Those words came hours after Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe flatly denied the idea that the FBI lost confidence in Comey.

This seems like a perfect case for…
