Trump Still Mad at ‘Mentally Deranged’ Michael Wolff’s Book: ‘So Much Fake News’

While the media’s obsessive coverage over Michael Wolff’s White House tell-all Fire and Fury has mostly died off, President Donald Trump is still upset about the book as he tweeted today that “fake news” from the “mentally deranged author” needs to be corrected.

The book, which has been highly disputed by both conservative and liberal critics alike, goes into details ranging from Steve Bannon calling Donald Trump Jr. a traitor, to explaining how Trump tried to seduce his friends’ wives. Additionally, other crazy stories include Trump choosing to eat McDonalds due to fears of other foods being poisoned and him calling his confidant Hope Hicks a “piece of tail.”

All these embarrassing details — true or untrue — seem to have remained under the president’s skin, as he tweeted today: “So much Fake News is being reported. They don’t even try to get it right, or correct it when they are wrong. They promote the Fake Book of a mentally deranged author, who knowingly writes false information. The Mainstream Media is crazed that WE won the election!”

The most notable effect of the book in the media world is re-igniting debates over Trump’s mental fitness, as many portions of Wolff’s book suggest the president may not be right in the head. Yet by the end of this week’s roller coaster news cycle, the book dropped out of public attention — and one would think Trump would like to leave it there.

However, it’s clear Wolff’s Beltway insider stories are still bothering the president as he deals with everything from a porn star-related scandal to a falsely reported North Korean nuclear strike. But who knows, maybe Wolff will end up winning Trump’s fake news award after all this controversy.
