He felt that the publication’s new logo — a blue circle — posed a challenge. After all, what if the paper ever has to cover non-circle news? Like, say, “If SpongeBob SquarePants ever chokes on a Dorito at the Pentagon, you won’t read about it in The USA Today.” Excellent point and very probably scenario.
Fortunately, USA Today is both crafty and quick, so it gladly accepted Colbert’s challenge. With pretty great results.
